Easy Peasy Guacamole


Whether it’s a Cinco de Mayo celebration, Superbowl get-together, or any occasion really, no party is complete without a tasty helping of chips and guacamole. This recipe makes a nice size batch, can be made smooth or chunky, is so easy to make, and is the perfect staple for every party or gathering.

This recipe is so yummy and so quick to prepare. Its smooth texture makes it perfect for dipping, and with a few simple ingredients, it's ready to serve in just 10 minutes! For a chunkier guacamole just add diced tomato and onion. Enjoy!!

Ingredients

  • 4 medium, ripe avocados
  • 3/4 tsp seasoned salt
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 
  • diced tomato (OPTIONAL)
  • diced white or red onion (OPTIONAL)

Instructions

  1. Cut each avocado in half length wise and remove the pits. Remove the avocado from the skin by scooping it out with a spoon into a mixing bowl.
  2. With all the avocado in the bowl, take a knife and slice and dice the avocado right inside the bowl, breaking it up into small, chunky pieces.
  3. Add seasoned salt, garlic powder and black pepper and mix well with a fork. The avocado will continue to break up and become smooth. No mashing necessary.
  4. Add cheese and mix well.
  5. For a chunkier guacamole add diced tomato and onion to desired chunkiness.

Serve immediately or chill for about 30 minutes before serving. Yields about 3 cups.

Notes

QUICK TIP: Store just-ripe avocados in the vegetable bin in your refrigerator. They will last 1-2 weeks longer than sitting on a counter top or in a pantry.
